The autumn Steering Committee was held at CNR, Pisa on Wednesday 8th November with two of the WP leaders attended virtually via “GoTo”. Opening the meeting, Franco Niccolucci referred to the European Open Science Cloud workshop that had been held in the morning. He proposed that two PARTHENOS Task Forces be set up, one to address services and the other empowerment to ensure that the project and humanities are represented in the EOSC. Task Force members would consist of Research Infrastructure executives involved in PARTHENOS as well as some of the people involved in the more “hands on” aspects.
Following this, everyone was updated on the WP activities for the last six months and plans for the next period. These include the launches of the Guidelines Wizard, the SSK and the DMP template with demos of each of the tools. The technical development is proceeding well with twelve completed metadata aggregations to the PARTHENOS Joint Resource Registry which has enabled work to start on resource discovery. Several new modules are being developed for training along with some webinars. WP8 which addresses communication and outreach, will be increasingly busy disseminating to the wider Humanities research community as the new tools are released, both to promote uptake and to get feedback from users outside of the project. Overall, good progress is being made and the next Steering Committee and General Assembly venue and dates will be decided soon.
